Steve Thomas is an accomplished and dynamic senior executive with a career record of multi-channel success in US and international markets and a diverse skill set that spans global business development and marketing, as well as financial analysis, budget administration, and management. He brings valuable insight and reliable instincts to the development of marketing and product strategies that propel robust gains in market share, customer retention, and competitive advantage.
Throughout his career, Steve has been a driving force behind defining and shaping strategic business growth initiatives that have led to market leadership in challenging startup and turnaround situations, as well as emerging market and international arenas.
Steve is a three time Chief Marketing Officer, including with Edible Arrangements International, where Steve defined and led marketing strategies that resulted in explosive revenue growth from $191 million to $525 million, half of which is derived through a robust e-commerce channel and the other 50% through the organization’s 1200 retail stores. At Edible, Steve created a model for sustainable growth by refocusing the business emphasis from new store development to growing same store sales, driving an increase in excess of 61% in same store sales and an incremental $334 million in system wide sales over 5 years. He spearheaded a complete rebranding of all Edible Arrangements stores, creating a consistent, upscale brand with improved customer interface, digital menu boards and more. Steve was also a key player in developing a relationship and securing a significant infusion of capital from Catterton Partners in June 2012. More recently, Steve returned to Edible as SVP of Brand Strategy to lead its brand transformation, away from a gift brand exclusively, and toward a gift and treat brand, with grab and go menu items to complement the brand’s gift products.
